Leaving clothes in your dresser or chest is ok to do. Please make sure it is clothes only.
Items such as jewlery, checkbooks, weapongs, cash or any other important personal items should be removed and placed in the trunk of your car.
Preparing your refrigerator
It is highly recommended to empty your refrigerator and freezer 24 hours before your move. This includes unplugging it from the wall. Wipe out all water and mositure and leave doors open until the mover is ready to load the refridgerator. It is also recommended to place a box of baking soda in the refridgerator to keep mositure and mold from accumulating.
Washer & Dryer
It is recommended to discounnect your washer and dryer before the mover. This can save you a considerable amount of time. You should also note whether your dryer is a three or four prong cord.
Proper Packing
We reccomend setting up an area of your home for packing. It always helps to keep like items stacked, collecgted together and organized for quick and efficient packing. Always use lots of packing paper.
Label all your boxes
LABEL ALL YOUR BOXES
This will make it easier to place the boxes in the correct rooms in the new home.
Staging area/Group items
As the above pictures shows, collect like items in an area of the home so you have like items and makes it easier to pack.
Packing Dishes
Dishes should be pakced one at a time with paper. Also crunched up apaper should be placed on the bottome of the box. Place all like size dishes vertically in the box and surround with paper. Always make sure the box is full of paper and sealed properly.
Moving Plants
Moving plants across state lines is usually prohibited and trucks will be stopped and checked. Plants and pots are also dirty, can contain hidden bugs and small creatures and sometimes pots could crack letting loose dirt, bugs and hidden water. This could all run on the inside of the moving truck and cause damage to other items.
Take apart and reassemble beds
As part of our serice we do take apart beds and reassemble at the new home.
Propane, Fuel and Batteries
It is against the law for movers to transport Propane Canisters, Fuels Tanks and Corriosive Batteries.
Paint, pesticides and chemicals
It is against the law for movers to transport flammable chemicals.
Guns, Rifles and ammunition
It is against the law for movers to transport guns, rifles and ammunition. It is recommended that these items remain with the owner and locked in the trunck of a car during the moving process.
